Matthew David Plexman
Matthew Plexman has been fascinated with Man’s relationship with Nature for most of his life – often seeking remote areas where human constructs intersect wilderness to build his body of work. He has been working with medium and large format photography for over 35 years. During the past several years, he has found that his subject matter is often best captured with multiple captures stitched into wide-angle panoramics – mimicking the perception of human vision.
Matthew attended Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, Photographic Arts, graduating in 1980 with Bachelor of Applied Arts in Photography. He started his own photography business in 1982 and has been working with ad agencies, design firms, government agencies and corporations ever since. With his partner he owns a studio in Toronto, a flexible space set up in part event space and art gallery. Matthew Plexman finds his personal art projects and corporate assignments grow and feed off of one other, pushing the boundaries of each in new and unexpected directions.
