Eric ANDERSON Nasmith

1916 – 1985


Eric Nasmith was an artist, printmaker and naturalist doing extensive studies on bird populations in Ontario. Born in Port Perry ON, he graduated from Central Technical School in Toronto ON, and the Art Institute of Chicago IL, where he specialized in drawing and painting.

During WWII, he served with the RCAF as a navigator, afterwards becoming a commercial artist and freelancer. In 1951, he opened his own commercial art studio, and in 1971 began exhibiting his work in numerous galleries. His subject matter was varied, including urban scenes, landscapes and wildlife.

His work was collected nationally, and exhibited at The Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.
