Frederick Stanley Haines OSA, RCA

1879-1960

Haines was born in Meaford, ON. An accomplished artist, he work across numerous media including oil painting, gouache, watercolour, print making and engraving. He was the president of the Ontario Society of Artists, a founding member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, a founding member of the Canadian Society of Etchers and Printers. He also was a colleague and friend of the Group of Seven. He was made a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.

Fred S. Haines’ work is held in the National Gallery of Canada and the Public Archives of Canada. 

This still life is a charming watercolour painting of lilies.
